OUT OF SITE ACTIVITIES
ORGANIC OLIVE OIL TASTING
At a historic mill surrounded by hills covered with olive trees. It will include a mini-course on olive oil tasting with an explanation of the variety of oils, flaws and strengths found the tasting, the difference between extra virgin olive oil and olive oil. Here, you’re goig also to visit the Oil mill and admire a unique collection of old carriages from different European countries and dating back centuries. Possibility to taste typical Tuscan products (meats and local cheeses, wine and farm oil, homemade bread, pickles, etc..) and in the period of pressing activities (end of October – end of December) it will be possible to assist to the olives pressing process and to the olive oil production process and personally try the olives ‘harvest.
At a magnificent estate of a winery in the heart of Chianti. It will include a tour of the facility with an explanation of the history of the building, of wine-making process and an introduction to wine tasting techniques.
The cooking lesson takes place at an Italian family: chef’s house! Thanks to this experience you will share the richness and history of Italian cuisine. Cook and taste the local products with an expert guide. The lesson will be followed by lunch / dinner, tasting the Italian recipes prepared together, in the cozy home of the chef. Duration approx. 4 hours.
One morning dedicated to the tour of the traditional morning market of Sant’Ambrogio in Florence to choose with the chef the best ingredients that you will need during the cooking class. The meeting will be at 9:30 at the Market, then you will reach the chef’s house where the lesson will take place and where you will enjoy the lunch prepared together (see previous experience). Duration: approx. 6 hours.
SHOPPING AT A LOCAL MARKET & STREET FOOD LUNCH
The best way to learn Italian is practicing with the locals and living our culture while having fun! Here our proposal: A lesson of Italian language of two hours where we’ll teach you some of the Italian words and expressions you need for shopping: greetings, ask for a price, order things and/or food, to thank, to know Italian practices and customs for shopping. After the lesson, you’ll head to a local market nearby to put in practice what you’ve learned while shopping. We’ll end the morning tasting the typical lampredotto sandwich and a glass of wine.

A guided tour that will allow you to visit villages and towns around Florence on board of an original classic car on board of the legendary FIAT 500! The tour will start from Florence and come straight up to the Florentine hills with a route that will pass through the most beautiful roads of the Tuscan countryside.

You can discover one of the elegant medieval and renaissance Villas such as Villa la massa o Villa di Lilliano, la fonte della fata Morgana in front of Villa Il Riposo, Castello Pandolfini, Villa di Castel Ruggero; or visit sacred places such as Chiesa di Sant’Andrea a Candeli, Il convento di San Francesco all’Incontro, L’Oratorio di Santa Caterina, the 2 mediaval country churches San Qurico e Giulitta e San Giorgio a Ruballa with the sacred art museum or the monumental cemetery of Antella.
OPERA’s PREPARATION WORKSHOP
Do not miss the chance to attend an Italian opera concert in the famous Opera theater of Florence. During 2 seminars in class a teacher specialized in opera will explain the history and the music of one opera (based on the theatre’s program) to be fully prepared during the show at the theatre. In addition, we will accompany you to the theater for a guided tour of the opera theater itself and to discover all the secrets behind the scenes! The price also includes the ticket for the opera.
